Easter Crafting with My Girls

On Saturday, we started making Easter goodies.  I love doing the cheesy traditional crafts and goodies for each holiday.  I hope the girls will carry on some of the same traditions to their families. 

I found this really cute Resurrection craft on Pinterest for the girls to make.  Mark had been walking the girls through the Resurrection Eggs each night this week leading up to Easter, so we had a great time making this craft symbolizing the EMPTY tomb!!!!

I finally perfected the bird nest treat this year.  Last year they weren't so tasty; however, this year was quite the opposite.  Found a great recipe on Pinterest.  Love Pinterest!!!

Our sweet neighbor, Mrs. Marica, gave the girls Peeps for Easter.  So, we used another idea from Pinterest and made the Peeps even more scrumptious! 

Here is our traditional Easter bunny cake -again.  I used whipped cream this year, instead of straight up icing to lessen the sweetness. 

Yes, Pinterest - again!  I found this cute snack idea for kids symbolizing the EMPTY tomb!!!  We used icing, graham crackers, peanut butter, a chocolate donut, and an Oreo. 

When we got home Sunday afternoon, we finally got to dieing eggs.  The girls had been itching to do this - just like each year.  We enjoyed this activity together as a family.  Happy Easter everyone!  Hope you and your family had a blessed day celebrating our Lord and Savior's Resurrection!!!

Pioneering Life Care's First Easter Egg Hunt

Grammy couldn't leave the rehab facility, so we brought the FUN to her instead!  We are learning to make the most of every situation - regardless of what it is.  While planning the Easter fun, we decided it would be fabulous for the girls to hunt Easter eggs in the garden.  Little did we know, no one had ever asked to do this before - well - why not???  So, the Farley family pioneered Life Care's first Easter Egg Hunt.  So glad we brought some smiles to some faces! 

We ate a lovely Easter dinner, baked ham, stuffed potatoes, broccoli, and cake in the private dining room.  Uncle Todd Sr. and Josh hid the eggs for us.  Then, the girls grabbed their baskets and bags and headed to the garden for the hunt.

They had a great time hunting for the eggs, and an even more fun eating the candy!!!

Grammy wore her new beautiful blue and white housecoat and matching blue socks for the special day.  Grandpa and Grammy were ELATED to have the whole family (even 3 week old baby Nathan) together celebrating our Lord and Savior's resurrection, as well as celebrating with everyone together!

This is the sweet new family member - baby Nathan Benjamin.  Aunt Leslie does NOT look like she gave birth 3 weeks ago.

My precious girls and sweet husband make me a blessed and happy woman!!!  The girls looked beautiful in their custom made Easter dresses - thank you Baba.  I was so excited to find myself a coordinating dress for Easter to match the girls with their yellow and white.  I am such a girlie-girl when it comes to Easter.  I just remember as a child going shopping with my Grandmama and Mama looking for a new Easter dress each year.  I still get giddy about it!

Mark is one man who adores his Mother with everything in him.  He is extremely protective of her physically and emotionally.  I am thankful every day for this woman of grace who gave me my prince!!!!  Thank you Grammy!

Our Easter celebration was fabulous, and we proved that no matter where you are - you can always make the most of it!!!! 

UGA Vet Day

We finally made our way to the animals they had outside.  The girls were amazed by the real zebra.  The girls were so funny holding their noses walking through all of the animals.  We left here and then traveled to the "World of Wonder" park in Athens for a picnic lunch and some playtime.  The girls thoroughly enjoyed their day, and we super excited to share our experience with such sweet friends!

The below pic is a horse recovering from surgery.  The put the horse in a large padded room for it to wake up in and lift it on and off the table upside down by it's legs with a huge lift.

After we finished in the "teddy bear surgery" area, we made our way to the real operating building.  We were able to see live surgeries taking place on cats, dogs, and horses.  The Vet doctors even perform surgery on exotic animals, like snakes.  I am not sure why someone would want to do surgery on a snake to save it's life.  We just kill them around here - would definitely not pay $$$ to save one. 

There all stitched up and out of surgery - ready for recovery now.  Good job Doctors!!!

This was the "pre-op" area where Dr. Sarah and Dr. Hannah examined their "sick" friends to see what kind of surgery was needed.

We brought "Mr. Froggy" from home, and we chose another stuffed friend who was "sick" and needed surgery while we there. 

Once we finally found the parking deck and made our way down to the festivities, the fun was on!  We started off in the "Teddy Bear Surgery" Area.  We waited in line for about an hour, so the girls occupied themselves by writing on the chalkboard.

I loaded the girls up in the van for an adventure filled day with a field trip to the UGA Veterinarian School for Free Kid Day!  If it's Free- I am there!  We were meeting our sweet friends the Nashes for our field trip.

Kindergarten Easter Egg Hunt

I cannot believe Sarah's kindergarten year is almost to a close.  One third of her schooling at home with us is over - wow!  I am going to soak it up - each and every day while I can.  Before I know it, Mark and I will be driving her around - better yet - she will be driving us around visiting colleges.  I think I am causing myself to grow a few more gray hairs just thinking about that.  Okay, enough of that - let's focus on NOW!

Hannah always enjoys participating in Big Sissy's class events, and her teacher is kind enough to allow her to do so.
